Perform Sankalpa with the right and left palms closed on the right thigh.

Arghya pradānaṃ
Stand with water in both hands, raise the hands up to the eyebrows and leave the Arghya theertham on a clean ground or in the water while finishing reciting the mantra. In the morning and evening, Three Arghyams. During Madhyahnika give two. In all the three periods, the argyam should be given while standing.

Sprinkle the place of Japam with water and chant the following mantra with that sprinkled water and place Tilak on the forehead with the ring finger.
